Our Machu Picchu By Train 1-Day tour is an all-inclusive day trip departing from Cusco. You’ll spend the day exploring the famous mountaintop Inca site of Machu Picchu with a local guide who will share insights about its construction, history, and daily life of its residents. Trip Itinerary
Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Cusco
Note: Most of our Machu Picchu by train 1-day tours depart from Cusco at 03:00 am. However, if you prefer a later schedule, we can arrange it.
We’ll pick you up at 03:00 am and drive for 1.5 hours to the village of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. From there, we’ll take a train to Aguas Calientes with breathtaking views along the way. Following the Urubamba River downstream of the Sacred Valley, we’ll arrive in Aguas Calientes at 06:40 am and take a 30-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu. Once you pass the Mapi checkpoint, your guide will take you to the Guardhouse for a postcard shot of Machu Picchu. You’ll then have a 2-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu, where you’ll visit the Sun Temple, Temple of Three Windows, Inca’s house, Main Plaza, Wayrana, Sacred Rock, and more.
After visiting the citadel, we’ll take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the 02:55 pm train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll travel by private van to Cusco, arriving at your hotel at 07:00 pm.
