Trip Itinerary

DAY 1

Puerto Maldonado - Isla De Los Monos.

Our great adventure begins when we go from the airport or the bus station to our office in Puerto Maldonado, where we can leave some things that we will not need in the Tour; in our tour you will have the personalized assistance of our guides who will guide you at all times of your trip.

Then we will go to the Port Captain’s Office, where we will embark to navigate the Bajo Madre de Dios River for about 40 minutes, where we can enjoy the beautiful Amazon landscape until we reach the “Monte Amazónico Lodge“, where our staff will welcome you with a delicious juice of Amazonian tropical fruits, in addition to it you will receive a previous brief of everything that will constitute the services of the Lodge and you will also be located in your bungalows where we will have time to settle down and relax until lunch time.

After enjoying lunch we will embark on a boat to cross the Madre de Dios River and visit the “Monkey Island”, which is located near the Lodge, where we can observe different species of monkeys, and at night we will go out again in search of being able to observe caimans, which are found on the cumulus of sand near the Madre de Dios River, the curious thing about this night trip is that we will see these caimans with the help of our flashlights that will give us an impressive image of the impressive Tambopata Reserve.

DAY 2

Lodge - Sandoval Lake.

The day begins after breakfast we will make a walk in the middle of the jungle and go to Lake Sandoval, one of the largest lakes in the Tambopata National Reserve and in our rowboat we will tour these waters where we will also have the opportunity to appreciate some birds such as hoatzines, anhigas, cormorants, and so on. and if we are lucky we will see the river wolves or otters that are currently in danger of extinction, after this activity we will return to our Lodge, to enjoy a delicious traditional jungle lunch, and in the afternoon we will return to the city, for transfer to the bus station or airport at approximately 6:00 pm.
