Trip Itinerary
Full Day: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa - Laguna Humantay
The hike to the Humantay Lake begins at 04:00 in the morning with the pickup from your hotel and later departure to the Soraypampa area in our private transport. On the way, in the
light of dawn, we will cross the vast plains of the Pampa de Anta and then descend towards the Limatambo valley. Then we’ll make a detour to the Mollepata district.
In this picturesque town we will make a few last minute purchases and then begin the ascent to the area of Soraypampa (3900 masl), starting point of the trek to the sacred lake of Humantay.
After arriving at Soraypampa we will enjoy a good breakfast prepared by our hiking chef. Then we will make a preparation to walk and we will begin with the uphill to the Humantay Lake. The average walking time will be approximately 1 hour at a moderate pace.
When we arrive at the Humantay Lake (4200 masl) the first impression is the turquoise colour of the calm waters of the Humantay Lake and the varied colours of the impressive natural landscapes that surround it: mountains, snow-capped mountains, streams and exotic flora and fauna.
All under the Humantay mountain, here we will receive a small brief on the shores of the lagoon about the climatic conditions of the place and the traditions of the inhabitants of the area.
At the end we will make a tour around the surroundings of the Humantay Lake to observe the peculiar beauty of the place and take the best postcards of this epic trip.
In the afternoon, after having enjoyed the natural beauty of the Humantay Lagoon, the Humantay snowy and the Salkantay Snow Mountain, we will return to Soraypampa where we will enjoy a delicious lunch in the open field. Then we will start our way back to the Cusco, to leave you in your respective Hotel or wherever you indicate it to us.

About your health. – Obligatory vaccinations: there is no obligatory vaccination. Recommended vaccines: it is recommended to update the classic vaccines such as: diphtheria, tetanus and polio +/-whooping cough, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, hepatitis A and B. A dental and medical check-up is also recommended.
Acclimatization. – This hike requires an adequate acclimatization according to the levels, it is recommended a good acclimatization in altitude at 3500 m. or make similar tours where we recommend our clients to do the “Salkantay” or Sacred Valley hike.
Physical preparation – To fully enjoy your adventure, don’t forget to stay in shape at least once a week by hiking (15 to 22 km).
