Excursion to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes, early transfer at 5:30 am to the bus stop for the short trip (25 minutes) to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon your arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Temple of the Sun (Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, a large central plaza; And all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut on the side of the mountain.
After the excursion you will have time to walk around the archaeological site in your free time. Then, you will have time to perform some of the following activities by yourself (not included in the price):
Go up to Wayna Picchu: For the most adventurous people, we suggest going up the Wayna Picchu from where you can appreciate the immensity of Machu Picchu, even more amazing being tall and distant.
Train back to Cusco: In the afternoon we will return to the Aguas Calientes train station to return to Cusco. Departure by train to Cusco: Upon arrival in Cusco reception and transfer to the hotel. Meals included: Breakfast. Departure from Cusco: Our representative will assist you and transfer to the airport back home.
Machupicchu Historic Sanctuary is located in the district of Machupicchu, in the province of Urubamba in the department of Cusco. It has an extension of 32,592 hectares. The Sanctuary presents tropical vegetation in the lower part of the western sector, in the basin of the Aobamba River. We will pick you up from your accommodation at 3:00 am and transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo early in the morning. At 5:30 am, we will board the train to the magnificent sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which has been recognized as a world wonder since 2007.
During the tour, we will witness the stunning beauty of the valleys and the local indigenous people. We will arrive at Machu Picchu town, also known as Aguas Calientes, and take a half-hour tour bus to the sanctuary. After passing through the admission booth, we will embark on our unique and unforgettable experience at this world heritage monument.
Our guide will take us to visit the Inca complex, including the Temple of the Sun, where their main trade is observed, the Intihuatana, the sacred rock group, the Temple of the Three Windows, the mausoleum, and other places of interest for tourists. In Machu Picchu town, visitors can stroll through places that sell local crafts, visit the Plaza de Armas, and other places of interest until it’s time to board the train back to Cusco. Around 8:00 pm, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our tourist transport will be waiting to take us to the Imperial city of Cusco and then transfer you to your accommodation.
