Trip Itinerary

Our tour starts early in the morning, when we pick you up at your hotel. To then transport us in our vehicle depriving us for 3 hours and 30 minutes to reach the hot springs of Lares at an altitude of 3,200 m / 10,496 feet, on the way we will make a stop in Calca, a small town in the Sacred Valley, here we will make a visit to the typical market where we will be able to stock up on some items that we will need for our walk. When we get to the hot springs, here our muleteers will be waiting for us and we will have time to prepare our backpacks for our hike.

The route begins to gradually climb up the Valley to the Highlands. On this day we will enjoy our lunch around 1:30 p.m. in the middle of the first camp. The adventure continues after lunch, in this section of the trail we will be able to see herds of llamas and alpacas, then arrive at our camp located in the village of Wacawasi at 3,800 m / 12,464 ft.

Once in our camp we will have our tea time and dinner. This day we will have the option of entering the hot springs before our hike begins, the entrance fee is already included, or simply starting the hike to the first camp, as most hikers do, this will be managed by you and your hike leader. Lunch and dinner included (except breakfast which is delivered to your hotel).

This day the adventure begins very early, with breakfast prepared by our chef will give us the energy we need for the walk. We will hike to the highest point of the hike called “Puerto Pass” 4,420 m / 14,498 ft for approximately 4 hours from our campsite.

In this part of the trek we will appreciate a herd of llamas and alpacas near us, and beautiful panoramic views. Upon reaching the highest pass, we will take a well-deserved rest while enjoying breathtaking views of the landscape and have a perfect moment to offer some coca leaves to the spirits of the Andes by making an Apacheta (mound of stones, a mound of stones stacked as a memorial or mark a boundary or path).

From here we will hike downhill to our place to enjoy lunch near a beautiful lagoon, where we will enjoy our food and hot beverages. After lunch we will continue our descent to the second camp located in the Mantanay Valley, a beautiful valley called Queuña (a tree typical of the highlands of Peru that grows between 3,400 m / 11,152 feet to 4,300 m / 14,104 feet, polylepis “Rosaceae” is a genus of low trees with rugged rugged bark).
